Safety Consultation Services

 

Dr. Rankin offers pre-accident safety inspections of single machines up to complete manufacturing facilities.  He specializes in both primary and secondary woodworking as well as metalworking facilities.  The following areas are available as part of the inspections:

 

  1. Machine guarding
  2. Cutting tool design and setup.
  3. Lockout/Tagout
  4. Machine operation and setup techniques
  5. Supervision direction for improving the work environment
  6. Maintenance direction and safety.
  7. Increase understanding of the regulations as they apply to specific machines and work environments.
  8. Machine and work area housekeeping.
  9. Determination of the safety priorities and potential risks.
  10. Any other aspect of the specific operation that needs to be addressed.

 

Dr. Rankin offers post-accident safety inspections with a complete report.  This inspection covers all possible areas of review to determine the cause(s) of the accident as well as methods to eliminate the risk in the future.  With over 25 years of experience teaching machine operation and rebuilding machinery, he has hands-on knowledge of safeguarding machinery while understanding the machinery’s use.  This allows Dr. Rankin to provide advice on usable guarding and methods while allowing the production requirements of the machine to have little or no affect.  Dr. Rankin specializes in post-accident inspections and reports in the following areas:

Dr. Rankin offers new machinery inspections.  These inspections may be for a newly purchased machine or a brand new design of a machine.  Many custom machines are built that expose operators or other personnel to dangerous conditions.
